Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
How do I get started?
That's simple. Just Show up with a good heart, and a desire to train.
We recommend that you first visit a training session. This helps to better understand our art, and our training methods. You are welcome to ask the instructors, as well as the students, questions that you may have. There will be no pressure to join. We will not try to sell our art to you. There are no contracts. You will be required to sign a release form before training. If you are under the age of 18, you will need your parent(s) or guardian to sign. Also we recommend that they visit a class and ask questions as well. This is an “ADULT” Martial Art. On your first day, please wear something comfortable, such as gym paints, T-shirt and socks. If you have a Gi (Martial Arts uniform), that will be great. However, a Gi is not needed until you make the choice to train with us.
We receive many e-mails and phone calls, requesting information and have

What is class like?
Class is taught in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. We follow some formalities, but nothing like the typical "militant" atmosphere usually associated with martial arts schools. We like to have fun while training, yet we also maintain an appreciation for the seriousness of the techniques and art.
Here is a video clip of what training is like. This is not our dojo, however the training
looks very close to our training. Found while searching the internet.

How long will it take to become a Black Belt or Shodan?
That depends on you? On an average it should take you about three years of consistent
training. About two days a week. This is not guaranteed. You also must do homework.
There is no time limit on when you will become a shodan. Some people may have had
prior experience with some form of martial arts. This may help. The main focus should not be on
getting a Black belt. It should be on the training. The belt will follow.
With consistent training, you should be promoted to the next level in
three to four months.
If I have rank in another system, will you honor that rank? And can
I wear my belt?
On your visit with us, you are more than welcome to wear your rank in
your system. However, unless you have ranking in the Bujinkan, you will
have to start at the beginning, if you decide to train with us. Our art
is very different from other martial arts. Including other Ninjutsu schools. It's like learning a new language.
Should I take class one or two times a week?
That choice is yours. However, keep in mind that taking two classes per week will help you to reach your goal sooner.
